First Position: Meat Wrapper, Sobeys #490, Bathurst, NB
Current Position: Assistant Store Manager, Sobeys #892, Bathurst, NB
What do you remember most about your first day on the job?
That it was really cold. I started as a meat wrapper and it was really cold.
What is the best part of working at Sobeys?
new staff, teaching, and interacting with our customers.
What is your proudest moment as a Sobeys employee?
I was involved with the Children's Wish Foundation, and I challenged my team to raise $11,000, the average cost of a Wish. In a very short amount of time we were able to do it and grant a wish.
What advice would you give to a new Sobeys employee?
Don't take anything for granted. We can get in the habit of saying "mop the floor" to a new employee, but I try to show them how, because they may not have done it before.
My Sobeys is...
...my family. A lot of us have been together many, many years.
