What do you remember most about your first day on the job?
A friend hired me to cut meat. On my first day I was cutting pork and felt someone watching me. It was store manager Lorne MacLean.
What is the best part of working at Sobeys?
The people you meet, both staff and customers.
What is your proudest moment as a Sobeys employee?
Becoming a store manager. I held many roles within the company and to become manager of the store I started at 26 years ago feels pretty good.
What is your favourite memory from the past 25 years?
Being selected as a Value Champion. I did volunteer work with a group that helps needy families and it was very rewarding.
Who do you most admire?
My wife. She has supported and pushed me every step of the way. I would not be here without her.
